Deductions for bra straps suck. The perfect routine won’t matter if you are losing points for your strap showing. So what to do?
One of the best options is a competition leotard with a built in bra. There are several companies that make them and the bra is adjustable to fit well. You will usually feel a bit less comfy than with a separate bra but there is no way for anything to show when its part of the leotard itself.
If you still want to use your own bra, look for one with thin straps that are easier to hide. Some girls try a safety pin for each strip to connect them to the leotard and hold them in place. Be careful you don’t get stabbed by the pin!
If you are an A or B cup you can likely wear your competition leotard without a bra and still be fine. Most comp leos hold our chest tight enough to feel comfy without a bra. Larger girls won’t find this as useful.
Once you chose a method for hiding your strap make sure to wear your comp leotard to practice at least once. You need to get used to how its going to feel different so you are fully confident during your routine.
And, if you are able to wear a long sleeve leotard you’ll find it so much easier to hide you strap.
