Probably not! In pretty much every competition you will be deducted points if your bra straps show from under your leotard. Making the straps disappear, or just not having any to begin with will raise your score fast and easy.
Trick one – get away from sports bras. Most sports bras have a different cut than your leotard – that means they will show really easy. The example photo is the classic look of a sports bra that just won’t stay hidden under a GK Elite leotard.
Trick two – do you really need a bra? As you get older support is more and more important. Not every leotard has built in support – those that do don’t require a bra at all. Even without a built in shelf bra, most leotards are tight enough that the compression from the spandex will keep you in place. Try without a bra and see if you can still be comfortable. You may find that not having a bra to hide is the best solution.
Trick three – go for a thin strap bra. Wear the straps the same way as your leotard, so the leotard will keep them covered. That may mean leaving your bra straps a little further down your shoulder than normal. Try it out before the competition to make sure the straps are staying hidden. And remember to try it the same way you will be at competition – leotard and bra with no shorts. Your leotard will move differently with the shorts on, so make sure your test is done as you will be at competition.
And we’ve had a couple questions about how to hide your panties in a leotard. Unless you are a little kid, panties really shouldn’t be inside your leotard. They are meant to be worn without panties. They way the fabric is setup, your leotard will do everything your panties would normally take care of. So even for young girls, don’t wear panties with your leotard – it will get you used to whats expected of you as you get into more advanced competition.
